About South City Athletic Club

As a Christian ministry organization, South City Athletic Club uses sport as a tool to reach, train and send players locally and internationally to make a positive difference in their lives, homes, schools and communities.

About Us

South City Athletic Club is a 501c3 not for profit  youth sports organization based in Ellis County.  A Christian ministry organization founded and operated by a group of coaches that are as passionate for Christ as they are for sports.  SCAC utilizes youth sports as a tool to reach, train and send players locally and internationally to make a positive difference in their lives, homes, schools and communities.

The Club offers opportunities for young athletes to be challenged both physically and spiritually.  Our soccer teams, running club, camps and skills development sessions are led by trained and licensed coaches who have a love for Christ and have a passion to impact those around them. Coaches share interactive, Bible devotions as part of practice and lead meaningful prayer times with the young athletes.  Additionally the club regularly partners with SCAC families to participate in local outreach opportunities.

The Club’s local ministry activity makes possible it’s international outreach.  SCAC collects soccer equipment and sends members of the coaching staff yearly to El Salvador to conduct camps as part of it’s mission.  The SCAC coaches train El Salvadorian coaches in player development,  and invest in them spiritually.

As the Club grows we aspire to add more youth sports and increase mission trips, both internationally and domestically that will involve our athletes, their families and our coaches.

Statement of Faith

The following statement of faith provides a summary of the core spiritual beliefs that the Club firmly holds to and expects all leaders (board of director members, coaches, etc) to affirm:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Outreach

The Club’s local ministry activity makes possible its international outreach. SCAC collects soccer equipment and sends members of the coaching staff yearly to El Salvador and Ecuador to conduct camps as part of its mission. The SCAC coaches train El Salvadorian and Ecuadorian coaches in player development and invest in them spiritually.

As the Club grows we aspire to add more youth sports and increase mission trips, both internationally and domestically that will involve our athletes, their families and our coaches. Our club currently reaches athletes through soccer clubs, running clubs, and will begin operations in cycling in the Fall of 2023.

Coaching Philosophy
Our goal is to make a positive impact in our player’s lives by focusing on physical and spiritual development. We strive to develop players at ever opportunity including practices, games and off the field events.  We maintain a fun, yet competitive  environment where athletes can develop as soccer players. We want players to improve their skills, demonstrate good sportsmanship, learn from adversity and grow as teammates.
PreSchool
Our Pre-School program compliments a player's 1st or 2nd year of soccer or can serve as an introduction to the sport.  It strives to teach the fundamentals of soccer through a curriculum that includes fun, engagement, and age appropriate competition.
The program has eight sessions focusing on dribbling, passing, and shooting.  Devotionals are an integral part of each session led by licensed coaches.
Camps
